About NeuroUniverse

NeuroUniverse is led by people who understand neurodiversity from both sides: professional expertise and lived experience. We bring clarity, confidence, and calm to families supporting neurodivergent children, grounded in insight, empathy, and practical action. And we stay with you for the long haul, not just the first conversation.

Our leadership

NeuroUniverse is founded and directed by Jessie Hewitson and Alex Ardizzone, whose combined backgrounds bridge insight, strategy, and real-world experience.

Jessie Hewitson

Founder & Director

Jessie Hewitson is a bestselling author and one of the UK’s most recognised voices on neurodiversity. She is the author of How to Raise a Happy Autistic Child and How to Raise a Happy ADHD Child, and writes a regular SEND agony aunt column for The Times and The Sunday Times.

Jessie is AuDHD (meaning she’s both autistic and an ADHDer), as are both her sons. Her work involves a decade of professional research on neurodivergent happiness, with a focus on reducing shame, practical strategies and understanding.

At NeuroUniverse, Jessie leads all parent consultations. She creates a personalised plan for each family, then stays with them through ongoing monthly support.

Alex Ardizzone

Founder & Director

Alex Ardizzone brings senior leadership, operational, and strategic expertise to NeuroUniverse. Formerly a Finance Director at the energy provider EDF, Alex has decades of experience leading large teams, simplifying complex challenges, and building clear, effective systems under pressure.

As a mum of an ADHD daughter, Alex knows first-hand the uncertainty and emotional load families face when navigating support systems. She blends that insight with rigorous professional thinking.

At NeuroUniverse, Alex ensures standards making sure every family we work with receives a high level of support.

Our wider team

NeuroUniverse is supported by a carefully selected team of practitioners and specialists, many of whom are neurodivergent themselves or have close neurodivergent family members.

Our wider team includes experts across education, SEND (including local authority and social care processes), emotional wellbeing, sensory support, anxiety, and family and parent coaching.

Parents are never expected to choose blindly. We guide families to the right support as part of a clear, personalised plan.

What unites our work

  • Neurodivergent children need understanding not fixing
  • Parents need clarity, confidence, and support, not judgement
  • The right guidance can transform family life

NeuroUniverse exists to make support feel calmer, clearer and more human.

What we do

NeuroUniverse supports parents to raise happier, calmer neurodivergent children, at home and in school. We also work with organisations to train managers in how best to support neurodivergent colleagues.

Parents arrive with problems and leave with a plan, plus continued support so they’re not doing this alone.
